ABSTRACT
Recent pioneering work has opened paths between the disparate disciplines concerned with the collective behaviour of our species. Economists, in particular, have turned to the work of their biological colleagues for insights into the systematic deviations of human behaviour from the assumptions of ‘rationality’, though this has not been entirely a oneway street.1
