Introduction

Numerous and conflicting questions of this type have been asked by specialists and nonspecialists alike. The answers have often been as conflicting as the questions. It was in the author’s country (Bulgaria) that suggestology was chosen as the basic research subject of one of its institutes-the Suggestology Research Institute. This has made it possible to organize research work quickly, rationally,

and to generalize what has been done in world research in suggestology, comparing it with our own experimental results.
