Guidelines for Helping Children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties

The Government has just published six separate circulars on ‘Pupils with Problems’ (DFE, 1994) four of which provide guidance on the following: pupil behaviour and discipline; emotional and behavioural difficulties; exclusions; and pupil referral units. Some of the guidance offered in them will be referred to at various stages throughout this chapter.
