ABSTRACT

What started out as a lovely walk, turned out to be a disaster. To have found the most beautiful hat in the world, to wear it out in the park, then only to lose it: in a gust of wind, is more than anyone could bear. The children discover that the Man of the Wind has got the hat, and in spite of all they have heard about the linger and temper of this character, they determine to find him and get the hat back. All is not, of course, quite as they expect. The Man of the Wind has also fallen in love with the hat and wants to wear it to a very special hat party. Everyone will laugh at him if he hasn't got a hat on. The children have the task of sorting things out between the owner of the hat and the Man of the Wind.
