ABSTRACT
All of the above should be reflected in how roles and responsibilities are allocated and evaluated as part of the school’s SEN policy as described in Chapter 2. One of the issues for large schools, particularly in the secondary phase, is how much of this responsibility can reasonably or efficiently be given to the SENCo and how the SENCo will collaborate and communicate with others – particularly those in the pastoral team, the head and governors.
