Slide, stoplog, fixed-wheel, caterpillar, roller and Stoney gates bear on embedded parts installed in slots built into the sidewalls. Slots usually house the following gate support and guide elements: wheel and sliding tracks; seal seats; side guides; counterguides; concrete edge protectors; and, eventually, slot lining.
