ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I begin by providing a sketch of the all-pervasive concept of globalisation. I go on to examine New Labour’s claim that globalisation can be a force for good. Next I examine globalisation and neo-liberalism. After that, I address the issue of environmental destruction, focusing on the destruction of resources; unhealthy food; genetic modification and climate change. I conclude with a consideration of the implications for education.
