Planning and preparing multimedia presentations: authoring systems

Authoring for CD-ROMs, CD-Is, etc. will not be successful unless the author understands the possibilities and constraints of the media. For this reason technical aspects of commonly used CD-based media-one of the most widely used-are discussed at the end of this chapter, followed by some information about CD-specific authoring software, and examples of CD publications. An attempt is made to confine all other technical matters to other chapters.
