ABSTRACT
A few years ago ‘scholarship’ seemed almost an archaic term. Nowadays it appears everywhere in academic papers, policy documents and mission statements, but its meaning is ill-defined. One thing that is clear is that the term is no longer linked almost exclusively to research but is used most often in relation to teaching. Does this matter?
