ABSTRACT
The concepts of leisure and human need have been difficult to understand and harder to try to explain. Bringing the word ‘experience’ into the debate muddies the waters still further. However, leisure must be experienced in order to exist, one might argue. This brief chapter focuses on people’s search for experience as a key motivating factor for leisure participation.
