ABSTRACT

I would like to take up the possibilities of future understandings of feminism, ethics and subjectivity as they are raised in the work of Emmanuel Levinas and Julia Kristeva. Specifically I will consider the section entitled ‘The Phenomenology of Eros’ in Levinas’s book Totality and Infinity and the essay ‘Stabat Mater’ in Kristeva’s Histoires d’amour.1
