ABSTRACT

The whole purpose of information needs assessments is to bring information customers to their rightful place at the forefront of the information chain; and, above all else, to ensure that information delivery is targeted, relevant and cost-effective. Far too much is going on in the information world for complacency to reign, yet we have been (and still are) complacent about our customers-real and potential. In the IT fog we seem to have lost our way and need to re-affirm our professional vows with our customers.
