ABSTRACT
Tygodnik Powszechny of 11 January 1987 carried an article by Professor Jan Blonski entitled ‘The Poor Poles Look at the Ghetto’. The article contains statements of the type covered in article 178 of the penal code and is therefore guilty of the offence of slandering the Polish nation in accordance with article 270 of that code. It concerns the attitude of the Poles and the Polish nation to the Jews both in the course of centuries past as well as, and primarily so, in the period of the Nazi Holocaust.
