ABSTRACT
This is a strong statement. And although the author indicates clearly that he is expressing his private opinion, his article can only inspire or strengthen in some social circles the mood of self-appeasement and self-satisfaction to which, as far as PolishJewish relations are concerned, we have a strong inclination anyway. The article creates an impression that help was commonly extended to Jews within the limits permitted by the conditions of terror under the occupation. Yet if one were to take a closer look, what was the situation like in reality?
