ABSTRACT
Manchester is one of the largest authorities in the country, and has already adopted wide-ranging policies and strategies for multicultural and anti-racist education. Progress on equal opportunities for girls and boys seems to have been much slower, and this chapter describes the early development of an LEA policy on sexism.
