ABSTRACT
On 5 November 1999, CNPC grouped together its core businesses and created
PetroChina as a joint stock company with limited liability. On 25 February 2000,
China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, known as Sinopec, was established
on basis of the core businesses from the old Sinopec, now known as Sinopec
Group.
