ABSTRACT
Case history A 28-month-old girl weighing 11 kg was admitted to the regional neurosurgical centre with a diagnosis, following computed tomography scanning, of a posterior fossa tumour. The child presented to the local hospital with signs and symptoms of raised intracranial pressure including nausea, vomiting, lethargy and ataxia. After discussion with the regional centre the child was started on intravenous dexamethasone prior to transfer.
