ABSTRACT

This chapter sets out to offer you the opportunity to explore some of the principles and thinking underpinning problem-based and student-centred learning. It also offers you the opportunity to consider facilitation skills and how you might use them, based on the experiences of student participants whose views were collected through questionnaires, focus groups and narratives over a two-year period. I have aimed to represent their views and their voices as credibly as possible, while recognising that my role and my experiences as a problembased learning facilitator have provided the framework not only for this chapter but for how their voices were heard.
