ABSTRACT
There are two key aspects, namely the activities of the finance function and the organisation of those activities.
Although details will vary between HEIs, finance functions will usually control and be responsible for the following:
Payroll – the payments of salaries, wages and other benefits to employees. Travel expenses – the payment of travel and subsistence expenses to
employees including, in some cases, international payments and payments in advance.
