ABSTRACT
This could involve partnership arrangements between HEIs and other research organisations in the public, private and charitable sectors as a means of maximising the quantity and quality of research output in certain areas and improving efficiency in the use of expensive research resources. Maintenance and development of these partnership arrangements often has significant resource implications for the HEI which may well impact more on the use of staff time than on costs.
