Introduction to Part C
Part C of this book is about implementing assessment in practice to achieve the best possible outcomes for students and other stakeholders in the process.
In Part A we introduced a number of issues, themes and foundation principles that influence the assessment of student learning. In Part B we looked in depth at eight key types of learning outcomes, discussed what each means in its disciplinary context, considered how each might be assessed and explored appropriate assessment methods. Part C will focus upon good assessment practice, drawing on the issues and themes in Part A and the learning outcomes and assessment methods in Part B to amplify and illustrate our suggestions for effective assessment in practice.
