ABSTRACT
Introduction The Sussex Coastal Highway is an HEFCE-funded collaborative project involving universities, colleges and secondary schools in Sussex aimed at widening participation. It aims to work with school pupils without a higher education inheritance in order to raise their educational aspirations and encourage them to stay on at 16 and progress to university. The project also works with 19-21-year-olds with partial level 3 qualifications in order to design a specific pathway to higher education for them.
