ABSTRACT

Curriculum development is, of course, more than curriculum planning and timetabling. Many schools give the task of curriculum management to a deputy. The challenge of curriculum development is wider than this. It involves the nature, purpose, style and sequencing of learning experiences across the life of the whole school and beyond. It links with out-ofschool learning, the role of students in and beyond the classroom, and the attitudes of parents. It concerns the ‘hidden’ as well as the taught curriculum.
