ABSTRACT
After a long period of economic central planning, Vietnam has joined the liberalization movement which is taking place throughout the world. Although actual privatization has not yet taken place, Vietnam took the first drastic steps toward economic liberalization with the ‘Doi Moi’ reforms initiated by the Sixth Congress in 1986.
