ABSTRACT

Australia and New Zealand are relatively small by world economic standards. Their combined population of around 20 million is a fraction of that of most European economies and developed regional economies such as Japan, Korea, or Taiwan. Despite its small size, Australasia is significant for a number of reasons. It is a politically stable area, with an English-speaking population that is highly literate.
