ABSTRACT

In rehearsing a general theory of performance, I have articulated a number of challenges: Performance Studies’ challenge of social efficacy, Performance Management’s challenge of organizational efficiency, TechnoPerformance’s challenge of technological effectiveness, and, more generally, the challenge to perform-or else. In addition, I have articulated this entire project as, precisely, a challenge and have done so with an eye toward the metamodelization of the general theory itself, something that has been guiding my lecture machine from afar for quite some time.
