ABSTRACT
So avoiding hypocrisy turned out to be easy. There need be no contradiction in choosing the kind of school you think nobody should be allowed to choose. There are good reasons to vote for rules forbidding that, reasons to do with the justice and fairness such rules would help to realise. But those rules don’t apply. The justice and fairness aren’t being realised. Given that, it’s not merely that one can opt out consistently with advocating abolition. Opting out may be the right thing to do.
