ABSTRACT
Freedom of association is broad-backed. It comprises a civil right, a political right and a social and economic right-as international human rights law and standards recognise. In all these respects, it has two dimensions-safeguarding both the right of individuals to combine freely with others and the collective liberty of the group itself (Ewing 1994a:240).
