ABSTRACT

One aim for any school seeking to tackle the problem of bullying might be to change the behaviour of the pupils who are involved in the bullying situations. Part of this change may be achieved through preventative work described in other chapters of this book. Other approaches will depend on responding effectively to a bullying situation once it arises. Schools may seek to work with both bullied pupils and those who have bullied them. In particular, they may wish to stop the bullying pupils from continuing with their hurtful behaviour.
