Implications of convergence and relative advance

So far, the changing patterns and trends of management and labour in the Japanese and British steel industries have been examined and interpreted as showing some element of convergence, both of the British Steel Corporation towards the Japanese production model and of the Japanese industry towards the British situation. However, important differences remain between the two cases.
