ABSTRACT
Wait Time is the time a teacher pauses after asking a question, before moving on to a different student, adding more information (i.e. giving a hint), or answering the question themselves. It seems that a wait time of three seconds or more significantly improves the achievement and attitudes of students, especially for open and higherlevel questions (see QUESTIONING SKILLS).
