ABSTRACT

Querflgel is the German term for "diagonal GRAND," a type of horizontal piano, built in England and Europe in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, derived from the bentside spinet style of harpsichord in which the KEYBOARD is set at a sharp angle to the SPINE. The "COCKED-HAT GRAND" is a descendant.
