ABSTRACT
The focus of this book is the exploration of key themes in post-war social experience from interdisciplinary perspectives. This interdisciplinary approach is particularly appropriate when considering the position of old people in post-war British society because this is the approach adopted in gerontology, the study of ageing. Gerontology is the scientific study of all aspects of the ageing processes, biological, medical, psychological and social.
