ABSTRACT
Nausea and vomiting and pain are patients’ greatest peri-operative concerns. The overall incidence of post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is estimated at 25-30%; it is higher in gynaecological surgery. Uncontrolled PONV can have significant physiological and medical consequences and lead to delayed discharge in day case surgery.
