ABSTRACT
The objectives of this chapter are to inform the trauma team members of the special aspects of management in the elderly, in particular to:
appreciate the epidemiology of injury; understand the differences in anatomy and pathophysiology; appreciate the response of the elderly to injury; appropriately assess and manage trauma in the elderly population.
