ABSTRACT
The previous case studies in this chapter illustrate workplace interventions to prevent physical injuries, with economic arguments being used to support the intervention. However, the same general principle of intervention before an injury is also used to prevent diseases and is a major plank in public health, although the arguments used to support the intervention, for example to vaccinate all children against diphtheria, are not necessarily economic ones.
