ABSTRACT
Whether they prove effective will depend on
the importance of this mediator in neutrophil
recruitment, and also the ability of the drug to
reach the airway in sufficient amounts after
being given orally.
Much the most studied anti-inflammatory
drugs are the corticosteroids, which are potent
and relatively non-specific anti-inflammatory
agents. Several mechanisms for their anti-
inflammatory action have been proposed.
