ABSTRACT
All opioids cause nausea and vomiting (see below), and this is more pronounced if the patient is mobile. Once the patient becomes ambulatory, the balance between complete analgesia and this side effect can become difficult. In the absence of effective antiemetsis, the addition of or change to another form of analgesia often becomes essential.
