ABSTRACT
When a drug binds to a receptor, its attraction to the receptor is called its affinity. In the analysis above in equation (1), for a high-affinity drug, the combination [DR] will form easily and, once formed, will be stable. The ability of the drug when bound to exert a pharmacological effect is its intrinsic activity or efficacy.
