ABSTRACT
Večerať has -ia-instead of -á-in the present: večeriam, večeriaš …večerajú. Compare also vracať (sa) ‘to return’: vraciam (sa) …vracajú (sa).
The verb jesť ‘to eat’ is a slightly irregular e-type:
jem I eat jeme we eat ješ you eat jete you eat je s/he eats jedia they eat (!) (don’t confuse with je=is!)
The past forms are: jedol, jedla, jedli. For regular eating you can also say jedávať/jedávam, as in Dialogue 1. The verb piť ‘to drink’ is a simple e-type:
pijem I drink pijeme we drink piješ you drink pijete you drink Pije s/he drinks pijú they drink
The past forms are: pil, pila, pili.
