ABSTRACT
Guo Da-shun’s chapter is ambitious in scope and coverage. It is given the lead-off position in the section on the Neolithic because, although it focuses on Hongshan at the end of the Neolithic, the chapter covers a long temporal span and most of Liaoning province. It is thus a somewhat unusual but effective introduction to Dongbei Neolithic.
