ABSTRACT

The research and the ideas described in the preceding chapters are largely products of the academic mind. The implications of this work, however, are more than academic. One of the most exciting aspects of the organizational studies we have discussed is their application in industry. In this chapter we shall discuss several of these applications. Some of them have been developed by social scientists, others by engineers or administrators, and some have been inspired by political considerations. But all of them modify the classical views of organization so as to take the human factor more into account.
