ABSTRACT

During your first few days in college you are likely to meet many new people. To prepare for this, we suggest that you think about yourself carefully. Do you have difficulty, for example, in remembering the things that you are told? You may well find yourself being given far more information than you can possibly remember-people’s names, addresses, room numbers, telephone numbers, and much else. In the case of names you can try to ‘fix’ them by repeating a particular name when it is said to you and by using it when you speak to the person concerned. It may also be possible for you to call to mind an obvious feature of that person or to think of other people with that name.
