ABSTRACT

Throughout the book differences between countries have been mentioned. But for the most part this has been a matter of specifics, of saying that Italian brewing has this or that characteristic, that representatives of retail banking in Britain express distinctive opinions, that the car market in Denmark is different from that in Germany, and so on. The purpose now, however, is to talk about the differences between countries in a more general way, even if reference is made back to the same countries and industries that have figured in the study for illustrative purposes.
