ABSTRACT

Nineteen miles northeast of Capernaum the traveller can find the archaeological park of Qatzrin. Qatzrin was a flourishing town during the Mishnaic period if we judge by the splendid synagogue that its inhabitants built there. The visitor is pleasantly surprised at the sight of a house which the team of excavators had the brilliant idea of reconstructing as it was fifteen centuries ago (see Figure 3.1).
