ABSTRACT
FEAR AND SILENCE This chapter presents the research strategy that was used in the study for collecting data. This strategy evolved through attempts to grapple with questions of resource dependency, assistance, autonomy, balance of power in IOR, indigenous development, gender and self-reliance as they relate to MYWO and the organizations in its relational environment. Furthermore, it engages these issues against the backdrop of heightened political unrest and foreign aid uncertainty during the period of my research, August 1991 to August 1992.
