The primary function of a presenter is to create a bond with the listener that will keep them tuning in to the station. As Dick Stone at Trent FM puts it, ‘Teaching listeners the name of the station is the number-one job of a presenter. Their next job is to get anyone who’s listening now to listen for the next five minutes.’1
