Ocular ultrasound can be classified as A-scan, B-scan, Doppler and high-frequency ultrasound (ultrasound biomicroscopy, UBM).
Problem
Like all examination techniques ophthalmic ultrasound requires an understanding of the basic principles of physics involved, a routine of examination and supervised practice before the clinician can reliably use this mode of examination.
