ABSTRACT

It is increasingly recognized that we are living and working in a global environment in which almost all firms are competing in international markets. As barriers to the movement of capital and tariff walls have been reduced, firms are responding to consumer demands for the cheapest and the best, irrespective of national origin. As a consequence of new technology and changing communications, the production process is no longer contained within national boundaries but has spread across them. Globalization is impacting on the social, technological, economic and political environment, and is reshaping the lives of people around the world.
