ABSTRACT

The theoretical discussion documented in the previous chapter paves the way for exploration of the key issues of this book, namely, what it is that leaders do to promote and develop collaborative cultures in their schools, and, how this collaborative leadership actually brings about success. That is what happens for students, teachers, and the organization as a whole, as a result of effective leadership? Answers to these questions were sought by interviewing a representative sample of 40 school leaders from five inner city schools in Melbourne, Australia. The process undertaken in reaching answers is detailed in this chapter.
